A TRUE DISAPPOINTMENT

While I appreciated hearing the beautiful songs of Camelot, I was truly disappointed with this “modern” version. Digital backgrounds and a rusty-looking set of stairs that looked like it belonged elsewhere made up most of the set. The total lack of costuming (except for King Arthur’s few accessories) was really distracting and disappointing. Period costumes help portray the place and time and would have really added to the show. Most of the actors looked like they were wearing sweatpants - there was not a hint of Medieval in anything they wore. And Guenevere’s outfits looked totally out of place - especially the pink lingerie-gown with pink fluff. I’m sorry - doesn’t work for me! Even the neon “Camelot” sign was distracting - it just looked like it was trying to take up space in the stage. I would not recommend this show to anyone who loves the original classic. This production destroys that with a hyped-up “fresh and modern” cheap imitation of the original.

CAMELOT?? NOT!

This was nothing close to what one expects from the Muny. The adaptation was horrible, they changed too much and removed the charm of the entire show. We love the theater, but we’re so disappointed we left right after intermission

I HATE TO SAY IT...

I have to agree with all the one-star reviewers"....this was a huge, huge disappointment. We also left at intermission. I had very much looked forward to it, but all the "good stuff" was missing. Yes, there were great voices, but that doesn't make up for all the other issues. So surprised to say all this --- cause, after all, it is THE MUNY!

CAMELOT

I’m a season ticket holder who has enjoyed Muny productions for 20 years. Camelot was terrible . So disappointing. The classic was destroyed.

WORST SHOW EVER

I don’t know if it was Mike or the new CEO, but this was terrible. The set, costumes, chemistry, story, disappointing soundtrack changes, and a small orchestra just made it worst.

CAMELOT -9TH TIME FOR ME AND CLEARLY THE WORST PRODUCTION OF THE 9

Good singers but that's where it stopped. The acting, dialogue, scenery or lack thereof, lack of some classic songs...left me not caring at all about the characters and dramatic tension ..just wishing intermission was the end of the boredom. But there was another dull act to endure. Poor costuming, none of the allure of the kingdom's magic in scenery, I guess attempts at being farcical with women cast as Medieval nights, Arthur in a business suit, and Lancelot looking like an escapee from light weight wrestling...not the greatest knight in the realm...terrible casting ..this is theatre..not radio.the ambiance of every aspect of the creation counts not just the singing voice. . people all around us were missing after intermission ..I guess because a quality performance was missing. Two strikeouts in a row Muny. Epic fail.

WASTE OF TIME

We left at intermission. This “reimagined” stage production was not suitable for the Muny stage. Boring, strange and miscast.
