'On The Town' comes to town

Leonard Bernstein's classic 1944 Broadway musical On The Town is revitalised by the NSO Pops in June, with a spectacular semi-staged production of the timeless work featuring full orchestra. Directed by the National Shakespeare Company's associate artistic director Alan Paul and with a top cast and creative team to be announced, don't miss this chance to hear hits including "Lonely Town" and "New York New York".

Premiering on Broadway in late 1944 and with a film adaptation featuring Gene Kelly following in 1949, On The Town tells a 24-hour story of three sailors on leave from shore duty in New York during WWII. It was Bernstein's first ever musical in a decorated career spanning 16 Grammy Awards, 7 Emmy Awards and the Kennedy Center Honors in 1980.
