The Power Of Art

All The World's A Stage is a new musical by Adam Gwon (Ordinary Days) with a heart-lifting story about being true to who you are, and a tribute to the courage of teachers who risk everything to mentor and inspire their students. Directed by Matthew Gardiner with musical direction by Marika Countouris, the production is a rallying cry for the importance of art in seeing us through the marginalization of an increasingly divided world. All The World’s A Stage lands at the Signature Theatre this year.

What Is The Story?

Set in 1996, All The World’s A Stage follows a secretly gay mathematics teacher who agrees to mentor an isolated student for an upcoming drama competition. The duo prepare Tony Kushner’s landmark drama Angels in America, a choice that quickly draws scrutiny from their conservative community. The pair’s creative partnership will eventually the course of their lives and serve as a testament to the protective power of artistic expression.
