A Songwriter's Musical

A Mountain for Elodie is a new, autobiographical musical written and performed by award-winning singer-songwriter Benjamin Scheuer, directed by Séimí Campbell and running at the Signature Theatre in spring 2027. The production follows on from Scheuer’s critically acclaimed, Drama Desk Award-winning solo show The Lion. Performed by Scheuer alongside a live band, narrative songwriting explores the trials, tribulations and decisions we must make to navigate modern adulthood, in a show that won great acclaim from the BBC and Playbill upon its Edinburgh Fringe debut.

What Is It About?

A Mountain For Elodie offers a humorous, reflective autobiographical look at a musician navigating major life transitions. Having achieved success in his career, Ben is determined to break family cycles and become a different kind of father to his kids than his own was to him. But when he find his dream partner and begins a family, the reality of balancing marriage, career ambitions, and fatherhood proves much, much more complex than that.
