Remembering cohen
The National Symphony Orchestra are joined by a whole host of incredible special guests for an evening celebrating one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Leonard Cohen. This truly special event is infinitely more than a tribute show; with multi-Grammy winning producer and personal friend of Leonard Cohen, Larry Klein, masterminding the performance, the spectacular evening features such esteemed acts as Gregory Porter, Ben Folds, Madison Cunningham, Bill Frisell and many more each taking the limelight in this musical celebration.
Leonard Cohen is one of the most influential musicians of the 20th and early 21st centuries, with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the highest civilian honor in Canada, Companion of the Order of Canada. His 1984 hit Hallelujah, despite being his most famous song, in fact went quite unnoticed until John Cale and Jeff Buckley's cover versions some years later. Nevertheless, it now stands as one of the best known, best loved songs ever.
