Why See The Guard?

World Premiere

Ford Theatre presents the world premiere of the new play from actress and writer Jessica Dickey (Charles Ives Take Me Home). This comedic drama explores the creative process and personal sacrifice which often lies behind great works of art. The story begins in an art museum, with a group of individuals wishing that they were able to experience first hand the artistic inspiration behind the paintings hanging on the wall. And then one of them reaches out his hand to touch a Rembrandt, and an astounding journey begins!

The Guard was commissioned as part of the Women's Voices Theater Festival. A showcase for the finest new works produced by female playwrights, this festival is taking place throughout Fall of this year, in over 50 of Washington DC region's theaters.
