World Premiere Of Reggie D White's Family Drama Comes To Washington's Arena Stage This Fall

NAACP Award nominee Reggie D. White brings the world premiere of his astounding new play to the Arena Stage's Kreeger Theater, opening this Fall. Based around a ferocious game of Spades, Fremont Ave confronts masculinity across multiple generations of one family. This is set to be an extraordinary piece of American drama.

What Is The Story?

The card table can bring things out of you. Over a hard-fought game of Spades, three generations of Black men meet - and find themselves confronting the most buried parts of each other. Whether it be lost love from their youth, a life where resentment has built and festered, or the weight of their own expectations, one figure hangs above it all: the dominating matriarch. Tackling themes of identity, masculinity, and the harm that silence can bring over years and generations, Fremont Ave. is directed by Lili-Anne Brown. Join the table this Fall.
