What's The Story?
Giselle, a beautiful and gentle peasant girl, is pursued by Duke Albrecht, who is disguised as a peasant himself. He finds a rival for her affections in Hilarion, a fellow villager who is suspicious of him. His doubts prove justifiedAlbrecht is already betrothed to another. When this truth comes to light during a brawl between her two suitors, Giselle dies of a broken heart.
She joins a group of ghostly brides who all perished before marrying their loves. Devastated, Albrecht attempts to take his own lifebut can Giselle's spirit and enduring love save him?
