Once Upon A Time

You shall go to the ball with the Washington Ballet as it brings its glittering production of Sergei Prokofiev's fairytale ballet to Eisenhower Theatre this spring! Romantic and shimmering with magic, Edwaard Liang brings modern expression to the timeless story of a young maid repressed by a wicked stepmother, who transforms into the graceful woman who captures the heart of the charming prince. Expect stunning sets, luxurious costumes, and of course, a wonderful score in this cherished wonder - a perfect experience for all the family!

What Is The Story?

One of the most beloved fairytales the world over, Cinderella is the story of a young girl who finds herself playing maid to her wicked Stepmother after her father dies. Overlooked and overworked, her fortunes change when the household receives an invitation to the Royal Ball. Determined to go but with nothing to wear, Cinderella's plight is heard by a Fairy Godmother who transforms her into a glittering lady, letting the adventure truly begin!
