WANDA SYKES

Hilarious as usual!

WANDA AT CHEVALIER MEDFORD

Saw the show and I thought she was absolutely hilarious! At one point I was crying and I couldn’t breathe from laughing so hard. She talked on some topics people may not have liked but it’s the world we live in today so whatever. I thought she was great.

ON POINT!

Wanda you are incredible; never afraid to say how it is and wow, it is indeed crazy. Your bold performance in a Red State in a Blue City, we embrace your absolute humor on topics not many can pull off. You left me in stitches and tears of laughter. The theater was in full hilt laughter!! Your ability to take awful events and find some humor it was makes you comedic genius. Thank you!!!

BEEN SO LONG THAT I’VE LAUGHED SO HARD!

I was expecting funny … but my sides ached and my cheeks hurt. She was beyond chuckle and straight to laugh out loud. There was a space in the middle of the routine where she seemed to struggle to get back in the rhythm. She did way more physical comedy than I’ve seen in the past. Yes, there were bits about politics, race, culture wars, but I expected that. Of course, those parts were aimed at a liberal audience. The majority of her material, though, was just plain hilarious! Surpassed my expectations!

WANDA SYKES LOL FEST

Tarrytown Music Hall was an absolute gem! Our balcony seats offered a fantastic view, creating a cozy, intimate vibe. I adore these settings; it feels like the performer is inviting you into their personal space. Wanda's performance had me laughing so hard that I almost needed my inhaler! The audience's love and warmth elevated the experience. Wanda was great, impressive as always, and honestly, nothing surprised me; so regarding political satire, I'd say if you're bothered by a performer's political stance (usually evident before buying tickets), it's wise to skip the show. Comedy is meant to be just that—a show filled with laughs. I felt entirely comfortable, but in today's political climate, you can't be surprised by jokes from any side. Lighten up people. About the venue, before you go, please take a look at the area, grab dinner before or after, and make sure you familiarize yourself with the parking situation.

EXHAUSTINGLY FUNNY.

Chicago show Feb 1 2019. Her political humor was great. The routines on toilet paper and gyne left me exhausted from laughing. Edgy and funny.

GREAT IN THE BEGINNING

Wanda was great for the first half. I haven’t had that much fun or laughed that hard in over 2 years. But she seemed to tire in 2nd half and was distracted and the pace was much slower than beginning. Still loved her though!

I EXPECTED MORE...

The event was nice. I really like Wanda Sykes and have enjoyed her comedy for many years. I was a little disappointed, spending $150 dollars for my husband and I, we expected more. She was entertaining, cause that's what Wanda Sykes does, but she wasn't WOW! I have seen her before and she is just amazing, her comedy blows others out the water...but not this show. A little disappointed! Maybe I'll go see her again, but not sure right now. Love you Wanda, but I miss the old Wanda!

WANDA SYKES

Love you Wanda! We’re all sick of Trump, and your accurate review of him was not relaxing! Love Esther, loved the gynecologist...please keep us laughing. This was my first time seeing you in person...I am an avid fan...thank you for being who you are 🤪

IT WAS GOOD BUT LIKE HER BETTER ON MOVIES AND TV SHOWS

She def had some lol jokes but I expected more on other topics besides her family.

BIG DISAPOINTMENT!

My husband and I are both Wanda fans. The show was such a disappointment! ! Recyled material ( we've heard about "esther" or whatever the name she calls her stomache before...and The stories about her kids birthday parties are better left for family and friends. Her performance was under an hour and over 9:30...not that we cared. My husband fell asleep!

WANDA SYKES

I have loved Wanda in pretty much everything that I have seen her in on television so I was hugely disappointed in her show at the Luther Burbank Center on 12/23/21. It took her a few minutes to get her monologue going, like she was tired or confused & then it was much more vulgar than I expected it to be. She was very much like the comedian that opened for her. I understand that profanity is common in comedy acts today but it's tedious to me to listen to someone repeating the same vulgar words every 5th word. I wouldn't want to listen to someone using ANY word every 5th word, even if it is apple or car. It's unimaginative & boring. The Wanda I thought I was coming to see is the sharp, quick witted woman I'm used to seeing on TV, I guess. Left the show early - not only because this Wanda made me sad but because I had a banshee directly behind me who constantly screamed at the top of her lungs & when asked to tone it down said "get use to it" & other things. Dismal rude people.

WANDA SYKES SAN JOSE

A group of 9 mother/ daughters evening out we were excited for the show but were so disappointed the show was flat and no real gut laughing performance. Wanda was using notes she would lose her place and train of thought that left me thinking where is she going with this and usually didn’t have a good punch line. She was so unrehearsed and poor script.

NOT A POLITIC CONVENTION! AUDIENCE WALKED OUT!

Please know we've loved and followed Wanda Sykes since the beginning. She has now become so political and hateful.. it's just not comedy anymore. Her set at the Hardrock Hotel in AC actually left me so surprised and disappointed. We book these comedy shows to get away from all the hate in this world. Ms. Sykes completely divided the audience with her hateful "white supremacy" rants. Quite sad that this is how we try to entertain these days. I guess some comedians feel they have to use this as a political platform as they're running out of funny subjects. Well I'm sorry I spent my hard-earned money to see her. Please keep your show lighthearted & fun and try not to divide your audience. You can't address racism with racism..that doesn't work. We actually walked out of this show along with many others. I think this is a clear indication of poor comedy. Spread love not hate Ms Sykes. Think about it.

DID NOT WANT TO GO TO A POLITICAL CONVENTION

I have always loved Wanda but was greatly disappointed. I expected some political and racially driven jokes but this was ridiculous. We ended up leaving about halfway through as did many others. Her opening act was quite good though.

TOO POLITICAL

I’m not democrat or republican , too one sided. Put someone famous on stage and spew their views. Wasn’t funny. Rather uncomfortable. Went to see a comedy show not impressed with her comedy. Waste of $75.00.

VERY DISAPPOINTED EX-FAN

For many years we loved her comedy - After this performance we will not see her again for a comedy show! We both feel she is just another Hollywood blow hard pushing a political agenda. We love a comedian that can make fun of all political parties - this was an obvious disrespect for those who paid for a great seat to see comedy and had to hear her rant on about her own political views - not even funny just throwing insults out. Very Disappointed left early! Love the seating and the staff friendly venue!

1.0 star rating Karen from Rhode Island

WANDA WANDA WANDA

Wanda should change her name to Karen . She was not funny.. Just made the show about her political view. She should be on the show “ The View” . She’d be better doing a show with Whoopi.. Maybe she should sit on a whopper cushion to get laughs. The show was a waste of money snd time. I like her on tv shows.
