Calling All Parrotheads, Jimmy's Back On The Road
Margaritaville hitmaker Jimmy Buffet successfully parlayed his laid-back beach-loving persona into a fully-fledged business empire, expanding from music-making to clothing, nightclubs, and even literature over the course of his five-decade-long career. If you're a Parrothead, or even a casual fan, it's time to don your Panama hat and get ready to sail away on some groovy music because Buffet and his band are docking at venues all over North America this year.
Born and raised in Mississippi, Buffett moved to try his hand at country music in the late 60s, but after a second relocation to Key West, truly found himself in the tropical folk-rock that would define his prolific style. Fusing calypso beats with easy listening arrangements and pop melodies, Buffett's easy-going, jovial and feel-good tunes like Come Monday and Cheeseburger in Paradise translate to a Mardi Gras-like atmosphere on stage.
His music is a constant mainstay for those seeking escapism from the drudgery of life, and his zany on-stage antics are legendary. In fact, in 2011 Buffett escaped serious injury after plummeting head first off a stage at an Australia Day concert - but thankfully this hasn't dissuaded him from touring!
