Relive & Remember The Stories That Matter
Considered one of the top visitor attractions in DC (which is saying a lot when contenders include the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument), Newseum is a thrilling sensory experience dedicated to promoting the importance of freedom of speech, free press and the First Amendment. The highly interactive museum holds 15 theaters and 15 galleries worth of exhibits that chronicle flash points and memorable moments in world history that should never be forgotten.
Visitors may be overwhelmed by the wealth of exhibits the Newseum has to offer, but a single ticket unlocks 48 hours, so there's no need to rush through '1968: Civil Rights at 50', an exploration of the struggles of the civil rights movement, the Berlin Wall Exhibit, replete with actual pieces of the wall, and the 9/11 Gallery, which displays vivid first hand accounts of the attack from journalists at the scene. As well as picturesque views of the capitol, a considerable collection of Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs and unique artefacts, there's plenty to keep minds young and old engaged, entertained and informed.
