The ballet Romeo and Juliet was created by choreographer John Cranko for the Stuttgart Ballet and had its world premiere in 1962. It reaped instant praise from both critics and audiences, it was first seen in the US in 1969. Set to Sergei Prokofiev's most touching score, this introduced the world to Cranko's storytelling gift. Today it is admired as an ageless masterpiece of unequaled beauty, performed by ballet companies across the world!
