Why See National Symphony Orchestra - Christoph Eschenbach, Brahms and Mozart?

ClassicalConcerts

A serene evening at the symphony

Christopher Eschenbach conjures up the pastoral serenity of Brahms' bucolic Symphony No. 2 as he joins the NSO once more. One of the most revered and celebrated composers of the classical period Johannes Brahms was a master of the symphonic and sonata forms in the latter half of the 19th century. His Symphony No. 2 is often held up as one of his best works, with lush melodies and tranquil movements leading to a cheery and grand finale.

The program's cheerful feel is evidenced from the start, with celebrated soprano Chen Ress offering a glorious glance at Mozart, with a performance of his Exsultate Jubilate among others.
