The World's First Permanent Espionage Museum
Immerse yourself in the thrilling world of real-life espionage and its fascinating history at Washington's International Spy Museum, a permanent exhibit dedicated to keeping the once-secret stories of daring men and women, their missions, tools and techniques alive. Upon arrival at the museum, you'll be given a brand new identity for the remainder of the experience, putting your undercover skills to the test whilst exploring rooms filled with artefacts, historic tales and insightful, entertaining activities.
The museum is home to some jaw-dropping tools and machines associated with the likes of Mata Hari, John Walker and founding father George Washington himself. Created specifically for or by international intelligence agencies, highlights of the collection include the Enigma Machine, a German code machine that could generate millions of combinations and was cracked by mathematician and founder of modern computing Alan Turing and his team, a lipstick pistol (used by female KGB operatives during the Cold War) and a fountain pen camera designed by the CIA in the 70s.
