An uplifting celebration of the godmother of rock and roll herself, the life of Sister Rosetta Tharp gets the musical biopic treatment this summer! Created and directed by the man behind smash hit musical A Night with Janis Joplin, Randy Johnson, this musical takes us back to a time before the likes of Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Bob Dylan had even picked up their guitars or taken up their microphones. Meet the true originator of rock and roll!

This is the latest work by acclaimed Broadway director Johnson; his show A Night with Janis Joplin opened up the earlier life of the tragic star, exploring her personality, her music and her desires. This new musical biopic seeks to do the same for Sister Rosetta Sharp, a nun whose musical proclivities opened the world to a new genre in rock music.
