A World Premiere Production
Mary Rodgers classic body-swapping tale, made famous by two Disney movies, comes to the Arlington stage in this world premiere musical. Full of laughs and lessons for adults and children alike, Freaky Friday was adapted for the silver screen in 1976, and again in 2003, in a version starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The score comes courtesy of crack musical theatre duo Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, who were awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2010 for their surburban rock musical Next to Normal. The book is written by Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights), while two-time Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo (On Your Feet!) provides choreography. Director Christopher Ashley rounds out the starry creative team.
What is Freaky Friday About?
