Flirtation and fidelity are the order of the day in Mozart's sublime Cosi Fan Tutte (which translates as 'women are all, and always so'.) The charming comic opera returns during Washington National Opera's latest revival, helmed by none other than opera diva and Kennedy Center artistic advisor resident Renee Fleming making her directorial debut. A winning ensemble including Laura Wilde, Kang Wang and Paulo Szot rounds off the bill!
Punctuated by exquisite musical moments like the Soave si il vento trio and Come scoglio aria, Cosi Fan Tutte tells the tale of two young soldiers that fall afoul of a mischievous wager to prove their doting fiancees faithful. So begins a rollicking whirlwind of devious maids, mistaken identities and seduction as desire and lust blur the lines in only the way Mozart can!
