Dave Mason's Traffic Jam

September 17, 2015

The British singer-songwriter and guitarist formerly of the band Traffic will be concentrating on his time as part of the collective, when he takes to the road this summer for no less than 30 dates. As one of the founding members, he performed on their first two albums, 1967's 'Mr. Fantasy' and their self-titled record the next year. After leaving Traffic, he succeeded in carving out a career as both a solo artist, with hits such as 'We Just Disagree' and 'Only You Know and I Know,' and as a sideman for other acts. In short, this is one rocker who refuses to keep still.

One of the musical inspirations for guitar legends like Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and Jimmy Page, this American blues guitarist is considered to be one of the greatest axemen of all time. Buddy Guy is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, six-time Grammy winner, and, as if that isn't enough, Eric Clapton once called him "without a doubt the best guitar player alive". Enough said.

Her music style is particularly revered for its stripped-down songwriting, and is mainly centered around folk music. Many of her work has been covered by musicians including Emmylou Harris, Ellis Paul, Rory Block, and the Dixie Chicks, and constantly receives praise from her peers including Willie Nelson.
